All proceeds from the sale of My Struggle, His Glory are used to fund the missions and ministry of Second Chance Ministries.
Second Chance Ministries is a faith-driven nonprofit founded by Boyd Deal in Ariton, Alabama. Rooted in Boyd’s personal journey—having lost his father at age 10—the ministry is dedicated to mentoring youth, especially those growing up without at least one biological parent in their home. Its mission is to provide guidance, spiritual support, and meaningful life experiences for children in need of positive role models.
The ministry regularly organizes outdoor experiences such as youth hunting and fishing trips, which serve as both bonding opportunities and platforms for teaching values like responsibility, faith, and perseverance. These outings not only offer recreation but also help youth build lasting relationships with mentors and peers.
Everyone involved with Second Chance Ministries understands that this is much more that just a hunting and fishing event. They place a strong emphasis on spiritual development. Activities often include prayer, testimonies, and open conversations about faith, helping youth build a moral compass and find strength in their beliefs.
The community built around Second Chance Ministries extends beyond the children—it includes volunteers, parents, landowners and donors who are passionate about shaping future generations through love, mentorship, and faith.
